Claiming Petrol Money

was reading another post in here that was saying you can claim back petrol money or tax paid on petrol
my mum runs a small shop and always collects stock and makes deliveries she does atleast 50 miles per week
can she claim any money back for that or did i just misunderstand a previous thread

What she can do, and this is in accordance with HMRC guidelines is pay herself a mileage allowance.
The figures are:
First 10,000 miles per annum 40p per mile
Any mileage over 10,000 25p per mile.
What she must do is keep a log of dates and mileages.
She could then put this through her petty cash, by writing a simple note of mileages and dates and then claiming the appropriate amount.
Not complicated and well worth doing.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
