Any ideas on how to get rid of ring of toadstools on lawn. I have small grandchildren who play in garden and therefore have to be carefull what to use.

I'm not sure it's even possible to. What sort of fungi are they? Not that it makes any difference to how to get rid of them. Just that you mention you have grandchildren so I'm wondering whether they are edible, inedible, halucinogenic or poisonous. This website might help in identifying them if you don't know: www.rogersmushrooms.com

They're probably not poisonous, btw, most aren't and very few are deadly. If by toadstool you mean the classic red with white spots however, I'm afraid that one is called Aminita Muscaria, common name Fly Agaric, and is classed as deadly although you won't necessarily die if you eat it. Certainly you won't if you just touch it and then suck your fingers. Still, you should keep kids away from those ones.

Baking soda and water in a spray bottle, thats what my gran used to swear by, she used to put a good table spoon in an old spray bottle.

And if you get rid of them what are the fairies and elves going to sit on?

Thanks for the replies about the toadstools. I have already explained to my grandchildren not to touch the toadstools because the fairies sit on them at night. I think they believe me as they do not touch them.
