I work with vw's and have changed over plenty of mk4 golf clocks, yes the miles will read wrong but all you need to do is write down in yoru service book new clocks fitted and what miles you did it at and what miles the new clocks show.
The key code is not anything to do with the clocks, code reader still works and picks up clocks etc.....0 -
Maybe the Golf 4 clocks you have swapped have all been pre 1999. I can provide you links all day long to to show you that the immobiliser IS IN THE DASH for this vehicle. Here is another one http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q_how_to/multi/immo2.htm
Believe who you want AJS33 I am just trying to save you money.0 -
OK not wanting to hand out duff advise I have done a little more research. ALL immo3 VW's have the immobiliser built in to the dash. Some immo2 vehicles do and some don't - at least some European ones don't have the immo in the dash but in a seperate box, all other markets the immo2 is in the dash. Best bet is to look and see if it has a separate immo box. If it hasn't then you can't fit a used dash.
The confusion came because in my line of work all the dashes I see are immo ones. Sorry for any confusion it may have caused.0
