Hello,
This is a long shot, I bought a second hand pc from an online store in March for £130 for my little brother and it has just stopped working for no apparent reason. He really can't afford a new one which is why I thought it may be worth writing to tell the of my disappointment. He is 2 months out of the 6 Month Warranty. Surely a second hand computer should last a bit longer than 8 months? Does the sale of goods act cover 2nd hand goods? To be honest if it was mine I would chuck it and buy a new one, however I want to at least try.

What's specifically wrong with it?
Many pcs are clones and can replace just the part that has failed0 -
It turns on but it won't go past the password page.0

What do you mean exactly, what does it do when you enter a password? What operating system are you using?
It sounds like software to me which wont be covered in your warranty anyway.
Tend to agree. Post on the tech board and let somebody talk you through it.
