Bank accounts - 4 months in France

Thanks for all of your help. I'm glad I have a Nationwide account as it clearly seems to be the way to go. I'm going to contact them now to ask if I can make it a joint account.

One last question.
If I get her bank details, would making a bank transfer online from my Nationwide bank account into my land ladies bank account be the best way to pay her, or should I make several trips to the cash machine?

And if I am to make an internet bank transfer, will her French account has an Account Number and sort code the same as ours do to enable me to pay her?

Go into a Nationwide Branch and ask them, they will be happy to help. I work for a small branch and we have several customers who have a FlexAccount and live in France and Spain.

I have transferred money from a Nationwide account to a CA one the main problem was the unforseen charges by CA because the money came from a foreign bank even though I had arranged for it to leave UK in Euros. Oh and friends have had trouble when the receiving bank did not receive the money, it was held in the French banks head office for weeks!
