Thanks for your kind comments blind-as-a-bat and copier guy, i know its probably a tip of the massive iceberg thats out there, with many people suffering what we have today, lets just hope this thread gives people the belief that we can do more to help each other, and battle against and defeat, once in a while, these people who have no conscience in this day in age.
You sound as if you are having a rough time blind-as-a-bat, im glad this has cheered you up lets hope things get more positive for you very soon.

Well I just got home from work, cooked dinner and sat down to a nice surprise.
I'm really glad to hear you've got this under control. I hope both yourself and your wife feel a lot happier now and back in control of things.
I hope everyone else reading this with similar problems takes heart. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
wow in a few short hours so much was sorted out!!!!
i'm very pleased you've got this under control, must have been frightening
all the best x0 -
4. My wife's ex husband's employers have been notified that they will be recieving an attachment of earnings for his half of debt.
Are there 2 sepearate Liability Orders involved here ?, if not then the council cannot pursue bailiff action against 1 person and an attachment against another part of the same debt at the same time.
Council Tax recovery is covered by the Council Tax (administration & enforcement) regs 1992 which specifically forbids action being taken against 2 people at the same time for the same debt (e.g Liability Order) under reg 54(6).I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I'd be interested to know who the bailiffs were - I volunteer for CAB myself, and believe me, we have lots of problems with bailiffs and thier unreasonable behaviour, and it seems to be two particular bailiffs who cause the vast majority of problems. just wondering if it was one of them...0

Tristan I haven't been able to help or advise in any way but was hoping this would get sorted (followed the post today) and I have to say this really made me smile.
It just goes to show this forum is a true example of a problem shared is a problem halved.
Hope it all turns out for the best0 -
Hi again everybody
sorry for slow reply aftereveryone was so amazingingly helpful.
Again thank you especially to Roberto,it was your councillor advise that swung it.
Elainey, the bailiff's were Jacobs and they are the scum of the earth, believe me, they are nasty, i cant believe they were willing to come and strip the house of nearly everything when we have 5 kids here and 4 weeks from xmas.
The CAB and the Councillor both commented on how uncaring and ruthless they were.
Thanks for your comments youthis.
I and everyone i've told regarding this problem and of this website and especially everyone who has helped have been very much impressed and are logging in to see updates regarding this and other topics.
I'm still very much amazed as to how much help was given regarding this from you all.

Jacobs Certificated Bailiffs are a Quality Assured firm that provide a nationwide debt recovery service.
Ok i may be getting cynical in my old age, but why is it when i see that sort of quote in the first paragraph of there website, you just know what they will be like:rolleyes:
Thanks for the update Tristan 09, Your OH has already been through enough, i hope you have done all you can to support her through this and she is OK.
She is more important than any of this crap, but you already know that i think, look after her;)Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
Thanks blind-as-a-bat she has gone through enough and i supported her all the way, i vented my anger at the bailiff and the council directly.
Everything came through the post today confirming everything in writing regarding the payment plan sorted by the councilor.
This just shows the bailiffs can be beaten, it is briliant to have so much support on this forum.
Well done everyone.0
