Hi wonder if anyone can advise
i have a removal letter from maeston baillifs for no payment of a fine which was overlooked by me, they are asking for £685. i made an arrangement for this to be paid tomorrow. i thought about paying it to the court tomorrow instead....just to save on marston fees, hoping the court will take the full initial payment off me £450.......the court have refused to do this and said they cannot take the debt back (even thought the council took my council tax bill back from marstons this week) and if i send payment to them they will just refund it to me...is there any way around it, i would rather pay the £450 to the courts not £685 to the bailiffs....could some one please advise
cheers

I don't know CCJs in detail, give 10past6 a PM on your situation.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Can you hold on a bit as is looks like the additional fees may be unreasonable.
check Herbie21's website for permitted fees.
have they been in your house/done a levy?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

The fees you have been charged are illegal.
They can charge $24.50 for the first visit and £19.50 (ish) for the second visit. No more than that I am v busy and should be responding will post a letter to send later. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
i will ring them now and ask for a breakdown of fees as there is nothing to explain what they are charging me for, thanks for reply. cant understand why court wont take payment0

write them a letter stating that you are classed as a "vulnerable person" under their codes of conduct as you are in reciept of means tested benefits, that should make them return it to the court, otherwise i believe they only get 3 attempts at contacting you, if you ignore them they have to return the debt to the court and they lose there payments0

just rang marston....the fees are as follows....£425 fine, standard admin costs £85, bailiffs fee £178....they told me that these fees are legal. rand the court back and they pretty much said tough, they cannot take the debt back and i have to speak to the bailiffs...what do i do, i told them i am in reciept of full housing and council tax benifit but they didnt want to know, geting worried now cause they are gonna come tomorrow if i dont pay0
