A lot less than 20'000 a month entering the market for the last year or so I should imagine.

But lets bothe agree it is our personal view and can not be backed up with figures so we can move on.

At a guess I think it could be anwhere between 1%-25%.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the FTB market is made up of STR's and also bank of Mum and dad as I expect this money to start to run out over the next few months.

As I say whether it will have any effect on prices is another thing

My feeling that STR is tiny. It's not measured anywhere and newspapers don't write about it. If it was a mass phenomenon it would be picked up on.

Bank of Mum and Dad I suspect is massive, especially these days with big differences in deals available to those with big deposits and those with smaller ones.

I agree even on here most STR were accidental and previously would have been classed as forced in some way (divorce, job etc).

I know when my child is older and looking to buy I will most probably offer financial support if needed, you just do with children and I think some fail to realize why that is.
But don't get me wrong if I think they should be saving more or can do it on there own they can do it on there own, I did.

I think bank of Mom and Dad is filling the void/exclusion from the market for people who are struggling to save or simply cant afford without a bigger deposit.
