Hi - my H2B is a landscaper and wants a ring which will be really durable...he is convinced that Titanium is the way to go...
Has anyone bought titanium rings? Where could we get them from - we live not too far from Birmingham - would anywhere in the jewellery quarter have them??? They seem really cheap when i have looked at online stores - why are they so cheap if they are so durable etc??

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

cost of raw Titanium verses the cost of gold/platinum is lower, hence the lower ring cost.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0

Palladium is also meant to be really durable, and apparently is due to be hallmarked in the new year at which stage the price will shoot up so now is a good time to order it. Might be worth a look.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Titanium takes on different colours depending on the voltage that has passsed through it.
I have a ring somewhere. It feels light to wear - if I remember rightly. It is very strong & probably cheaper than gold because it's not as popular & easier to mine, more plentiful - possibly?0 -
I got a titanium wedding ring. Was only £50 because I am a complete clutz and will lose it or damage it somehow (so far so good). A friend of mine got a platinum one and spent 1k. Is a lot heavier than mine buts looks identical.
To be honest, price matters not a jot to me, its what it signafies.Sometimes you get what you deserve... :cool2:0 -
Hi, we're getting married next year and we have bought a titanium ring for h2b with diamonds around the band. It's lovely and cost around £75 from ebay, from a jewellery store on there. You can get plain ones cheaper though. H2b wanted one that wouldn't scratch and this is lovely.:snow_laug:xmassmile:A:rudolf::santa2:0

I didnt realise it was done this often, sounds too practical to be popular
I do remember in a film, The Abyss they got these rings and the guy gets his hand stuck in a door and the ring is so strong it saves his hand from being squished

We got my DH a titanium ring from Ernest Jones for about £45. He's a computer engineer and always has his hands in silly places so we chose his for the durability. Touch wood, one week on, its still going! Only problem we've found so far is that it is (obviously) much harder than gold so it's taking him a while to get used to it. Morning all
Bear in mind you get sized up correctly before purchasing a titanium ring
My partner purchased me one 3 years ago that was too big. I brought it to my mate who's a Jeweller to resize it but he did say titanium cannot be resized because of its durablity/strength or something across those lines"One Man Can Make A difference" Michael Knight KNIGHTRIDER0 -

I second this, we got ours in Palladuim, and it now has its hallmark, but decent jewellers are not hiking the price up as bought them in a 'pre' hallmark prices. And they can be altered.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
