Tesco 3 for 2 on hanging decorations...beware!

Hi all,
Just so you are all aware, Tesco have a 3 for 2 promotion running on their hanging Christmas decorations. Sounds great but be aware that it may not show on the tills. I purchased 2 packs of baubles and a pack wooden toy tree decorations. When I questioned it at cs, they marched me down the aisle and told me that it was only on the individual hanging decorations. I said that "any hanging decoration" is not the same as "only individual decorations" and asked again for a refund of the cheapest item. She huffed and told me that it was only a pound, and I said if it is only a pound, then they surely won't mind refunding it to me. She then took a pound out of the till and shoved it at me, as a gesture of goodwill.
Good deal but everyone just watch out for how the store applies it.

If you were overcharged you are entitled to double the difference - they should have given you £2 back.0

Surely *not* buying xmas decs in the first place is more in keeping with the MSE mind set?

They do this on lots of deals. Halloween sweets, pork pies etc etc. Wont buy any of these offers now unless I want 3 of the same item. Blooming Tescos! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

customer service sucks in tesco, was it in portsmouth by any chance, they would never offer double the difference and begrudge having to give back any money through their own mistakes.0

No it was in Bristol. Didn't really think about dtd as she didn't seem very inclined to give me the £1 back in the first place and still couldn't understand that they were wrong and not me. Also, we have just realised that my girlfriend's phone was stolen in there. What a great shopping trip that turned out to be...0

I have to say the CS in my local Tesco is really good, never had to argue about DTD. Only problem is that it is the same CS on every time I go in, whilst she is really nice I don't like to push my luck too far on some of the overcharges and raise my profile too high!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

In my local Tesco s in North Wales some of the staff on the customer services desk are very nice but there seem to be more and more agressive and hard faced young girls who act like border guards and who try to have an answer for everything. I was over charged for Baileys recently asthe reduced price didn t come into action when i spent over £30. She gave me the overcharge back onto my credit card but when i said i thought you gave double the discount back etc she quoted something which has only just been added and i never recieved it. They are also pests about accepting coupons too.0

From my experiences I would say Tesco have the worst 'Customer Service'. You would think the money came out of their own pocket

HOW DARE SHE SAY THAT! That really gets my back up. A pound is a pound and it may not be much to her but to me it is enough to need it back! Tesco 'helping you spend less'... better in your pocket than Mr T's.0
