need help for a new fixed cap with British Gas.
Hi,
First off I don't want to leave British Gas even if there are better suppliers out there. I'm happy with my service that they provide me.
My fixed tariff (Gas Price Guarantee Dec 2009 for both Gas and Electricity) is coming due at the end of the year and I wondered if BG were offering any more fixed tariffs. I saw a tv ad last night, which was advertising their Engery Smart product. I would like to add this to my existing package but also not be tired in to a specific tariff. I currently do not pay by Direct debit but this Energy smart which offer a variable monthly direct debit sounds very attractive.
Is this a fixed tariff which is part of the Engery Smart bolt-on (Track and Save 2011) . Sorry as I'm a new user I cannot submit a link to britishgas product I'm refering to else I would posted it.
Many thanks for your advice.

Track and save is a variable tariff which is 2% cheaper than standard tariff.
Prices can go up and down.
it is no fix about with BG just now no doubt one will appear again you have not long missed Fix and Fall. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Would it be worth getting the energy smart bolt-on for the remainder of my current tariff. or do you think this may hinder my chance of getting another fix tariff?0

If the bolt on is applicable to your price guarantee I dont see why not but I would read all of the T&Cs before you commit.
Also when you come off your fixed price deal they may offer you another fix at certain rates that sometimes happens.
If you are not offered a cap why dont you go for the online version Websaver it is by far the cheapest going just now but is not applicable with energy smart.
Do you prefer fix tariffs ? all they are is a gamble. unless it is like Fix and FallHis Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
roughly these seem to BGs best offering at the moment
for small user - track & save with energy smart
for everyone else websaver4
but both of those options have a tie in (I'm confused, you said you'd like another fixed price deal but don't want a tie in) & it is not possible to add to your existing tariff0
