Hi Guy's,
I just received a goodwill gesture from MBNA regarding my mis-sold PPI. They have offered me a just under £1000 and i'm due at least £2000.
What do i do next do i just go straight to the FOS or is it worth phoning them back as they have stated in the letter that if i'm not happy they with the offer they have stated to contact the FOS??
Thanks

Hi There. Tell them that you are not happy with the amount. Tell them what you are expecting e.g. the ppi payments plus interest plus 8%. Say that you will take this to FOS if you do not get the result you require.
Just be aware though that FOS has about 18 month before you have any results. Anyway good luck to you.:mad:0 -
Accept it in part payment for your claim, and advise them your dispute remains outstanding. Advise your next route is FOS. See what they reply back with.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Like Maxdp says, if you are not happy then take this to FOS but as regards the 18months wait then sometimes (I had this with the my bank) where goodwill gestures have been made FOS dealt with quicker as they would not offer goodwill without a good reason. Your call but there is a chance that they will up their offer maybe if you take to FOS (although no guarantees) and it will be dealt with quicker than a "normal" complaint.
Good luck0 -
Unless this is a final resp, I would write back to MBNA to state (as above) its in part payment only. I have never seen a valid clain NOT settled in full by MBNA. (I work there) If you are owed £2500 that is what MBNA will give you will get back usually plus interestNo Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
