Ok, let me see...
OUTGOINGS
Home:
Bank Account Fee £15 (this is basically an overdraft charge, there are other 'advantages', but none useful to me) CANCEL THIS THENm, get a o% overdraft with eg alliance & leicester
Mortgage £260
Factors Bill £15 ( whats this for?)
Buildings Insurance £15
Council Tax £70 ( is this with single persons discount if you live alone?)
Gas/Elec £30 (recently changed, I assume they'll sneak up in winter!)
Phone £18 ( landline? Is that BT & then call charges? You can use pre-diallers for cheaper calls but this is fairly good
Internet £15
Mobile Phone £20 ( can you reduce your contract or go PAYG?)
Mortgage Ins £12
Food £110
Eating Out £20 ( obv this needs to stop for now)
Debt Repayments:
Loan £200 @ 6% (29 months remaining) ( any PPI on this?)
CCs £230 (3 cards, 6m, 9m and 9m 0%repayments left)
Total: £1015 (oh dear!!!)
Ok, so the next issue is.... what can you sell? How are your employment prospects? Will you get a redundancy pay off from the compnay? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Excellent Bargainbetty, I'll dig out some old paperwork, must be something kicking around there for the IR!
Lynzpower, thanks a lot for that. I felt that I wouldn't be able to change my bank account due to having an overdraft (obviously I'll need that job but it's top of the list now).
The mobile contract has a while to run yet, but I'll call them to reduce the tariff. I'll look into pre-diallers to see if i can save a pound or two (all adds up!). My factors bill goes to a property agency to maintain the property, everyone in the building has to pay their share, no way out there unfortunately.
My employment prospects aren't bad, degree-level edu and reasonably strong cv, my concern is, of course, the timescales and achieving the minimum i need to meet my payments. Some income is better than none though.
I can sell some of my things, (not a lot of value, but a lot of stuff!), I'll get a list together and read the eBay forum for some tips.
It's a good feeling to be talking about it (a problem shared and all that!), hopefully once I've made a few calls I'll feel positive about sorting it out for good.
Thanks to all so far!0 -
No you can still change your bank account even though you have an overdraft. Ive just changed from lloyds to A&L and they have matched my overdraft :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? When I changed from Lloyds to A&L I found A&L very unhelpful in upping my OD limit to match my old one... So I gave up
In all honesty I haven't missed it but at the time I felt VERY insecure about it as it's my safetynet...
