And another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another and another...
Where do you stop?0 -
I got lots of jobs when I was pregnant as did relatives who are not as well qualified as me. Help her find a suitable job.Why did she get sacked? Has she got any skills and qualifications?
Pregnancy is no longer an issue in getting a job. If she gets a permanent job whilst pregnant then she automatically is entitled to 12 months off and can return to the job.
I got a job whilst pregnant for this reason that i would have a job to return to.0 -

But they are a couple so she won't be a single parent?0 -
I didn't say anything about her nationality, my point was it is working the system and whoever does that is doing their bit in making everyone appear to be milking the system and probably explains why there are so many hostile comments on MSE about benefit recipients.C_Mababejive wrote: »It doesnt matter. Yes that would be classed as benefit fraud!Yeah, thats what I thought. She has worked and paid tax, but probably only for about 9 months of her time here.
This might be silly even thinking this, but would we be in a better position if we said that she just lived with me and we were not in a relationship? Or is that a very rocky road that will lead to nothing but troubles?May be naive but wont someone ask her from benefits who the father is? No
Isn't this then benefit fraud if she refuses to name him? You do not have to namethe father anymore it won't affect benefits either way
I am totally against all the benefit bashers on this website but if people are advising how to work the system then I can see why so many assume everyone is on the fiddle. I don't think anyone was advising the OP to cheat the system
Wouldn't it be better for the baby and mum if they are living together?
Exactly! unless the Op goes down the fraud lineBut they are a couple so she won't be a single parent?

DX2 unless someone has edited their post or I am seeing things that are now not there [possible] then it was suggested that she claim as single and stay schtum about the daddy, hence my post on working the system.0

So as far as I can see no one was advising benefit fraud.princesspinchie wrote: »If you are a single parent you are not asked to name the father in benefit claims*SIGH*

Foreigners generally cannot get money from our benefit system, pregnant or not, single parent or not. So for her to claim on her own would not only be fraudulent, it would also be pointless.
However, a family that includes a British person and a foreigner does have access to most benefits, so a joint claim is definitely the way to go.0
