engineered wood flooring

Hi,
I'm thinking of having engineered wood flooring throughout my downstairs but obviously it'll be a big expense.
Is there anyone who's had theirs down for a few years?
I just want to know how easily it marks.
I'll be laying it on top of concrete floor and have a toddler and a couple of cats if that makes a difference to anything.

I have laminate myself and *touch wood* i've no marks on it at all as yet. It does chip easily if you drop something heavy on it but for everyday use its great.0
