painting over cereal boxes

Apologies if this is on wrong board. I have been making wheeled vehicles with my class out of cereal boxes, The children just have one session left to paint/decorate them. Any ideas how they can paint or decorate them easily. Will adding pva glue to the powder paint cover the shiny coating of the cereal boxes?
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j

Yes mixing paint with pva should help it stick to the shiny cardboard.
Or you could paint it with acrylic paint straight onto it. That's very good, but it doesn't wash off if you make a mistake on the capret/clothes etc, so have to be more careful.0 -
Adding a drop of Fairy liquid to water based paint made it stick to glass, so there may be another option to assist with adhesion.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

maybe you could try sticking tissue paper on the card using PVA - it will cover the area quicker than painting and will definitely stick to the card.... it would give it a nice glossy finish (bit like a shiny car!).....0

HI. We do this at school not much help but maybe for next time!
We turn all the boxes inside out and reseal them. Much easier to paint on the grey side and no show of what the box use to be!
Are you yr2 by any chance!!0 -

Snap! that's what I was going to advise, my son did this project last year - yes it was year 2, and they turned theirs inside out, and it worked really well. They even had a "vehicle display show" for us moms to pop in and see!
Have fun0 -
You can get some cool sheet of wrapping paper that will fit around the boxes and then get some stick on things for it.Please Thank Me
