Overpayment of MBNA card

in Credit cards
I have a Virgin money (MBNA) credit card which I have recently transferred the balance from on a 0% deal. I previously had a DD set up to pay the minimum (£25) each month but had not cancelled it as although the balance had been showing on my online statement as £0.00 for a few weeks I assumed I may have a final interest charge to pay off and was therefore waiting for this to clear before cancelling the card.
Today they have taken a payment for £25 out of my account although the balance was cleared well in advance of any DD being processed for this month and of course the interest would have been no where near this amount. It currently isn't showing as a credit on my online statement but when it does am I likely to be penalised for making an overpayment? Will I be able to request that they return this money or will I have to make payments on the card myself to get the balance back to zero?

Virgin is relaxed about modest sums like this that arise accidentally. You can either request a refund or spend your way out of the dilemma.
Note: section 75 wouldn't apply if you spent from a positive balance (because technically it's not credit), so probably best used for food, petrol and such like. Also, you wouldn't be covered for fraudulent transactions. Just so you knowPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
