our direct debit for gas/leccy is £87 a month - that seems to be covering what we're using this time of year. we live in a 3 bed 1930's semi - but we do have a woodburner as well.
    weaving through the chaos...
  • Aww, it seems my gas/leccy usage not that bad then! Neither of us work from home, I do not have the heating on in the mornings, evenings its on for 4 hours, weekends more. We did install a new boiler when we moved in (2006) which seems to be very economical.

Our DD for leccy and gas in £84 but it has been that for about 3 years (four bed detached - built 1999). Way back we were paying extra then the price went up sp tok a fix. That ran out just before xmas but in the last year we have finally got the house to ourselves as the final offspring has flown.

I'm hping that when the winter is over we will be spending less overall. The water is on for half the time it used to be and the heating is on for about 2 hours a day less.

NSD today as at work from 7:45am until 5pm - it would have been nice to see daylight:rotfl:

I really fancy trying the laundry gloop but I have 2/3 of a tub of costco powder, 4 boxes of asda sp powder, small box of tesco and box of macro laundry tablets. No I'm not some sort of wash powder freak really, just OH has been getting lots from the works shop (30p a time) and I had just bought the costco one, may not be experimenting for months :D

Oh has been put forward for a couple of temp jobs today, won't be work for Monday but part of me thinks that having him at home for a week or so could be a good thing. OK there would be no money but the garden and some of the house jobs that have been waiting might get done.

OH has finally finished the shower:j

    Hello all :)

Interesting thoughts about the gas and electricity.

TPA have you looked at ebico? they are a non-profit energy supplier and therefore work out better for a lot of people :)

I got the tip from susanC who I think uses them?

jayjay14, hope OH gets some work soon, and plenty done in the house in the meantime ;)

Thanks too for all the thoughts after my post about Mark's thread. I'm interested to know there are others who feel similarly, even if we are a minority.:)

    Now another big question:

oh hang on I need a spreadsheet first...

I would think it is very low in points QB, cos the only fat is in a little milk :)

Hi Weezl - I've been busy guzzling this with enthusiasm, secure in the knowledge it was low fat, and therefore probably also low in WW points.

Yesterday, I thought I'd better work out the WW points. Using the half sugar quantity, it worked out at 30 points for the whole loaf:eek:...

Alas it seems there's no such thing as a [points] free tealoaf... From now on it is to be eaten in moderation!!!! However, it is 100% yummy... half the sugar, a bit of cinnamon and a few shavings of nutmeg do the trick for me.
