Shower off a Combi Boiler

Hi
Less a "Is This Quote Fair" and more some general advice.
Looking out thermostatic mixer showers for a new bathroom and wondering if this one would be okay
We will have a new 33kW Condensing Combi Boiler, and a shower we are looking at says it needs to be a minimum of 2.0 bar pressure
Will we get this off our boiler or not?
Cheers
Tim

Hi you can fit a thermostatic shower to a combi boiler without any problem. You can not fit a power shower though.
The combi will pump the water and deliver almost a power shower experience, but do remember that the water flow may reduce if water is run elsewhere, kitchen or another bathroom for example.
As the shower will be thermostatically controlled, there will not be any drop in temperature, so you won't get frozen or scalded, but if the pressure does drop too much the shower will cut off.

I think the shower is meant to be thermostatic shower, and doesnt say its a power shower:

Here is some technical thing too I dont understand, about the pressures:

Do you think the pressure needs for this are too high or not?
Thanks again0 -
you have to get the correct one. we had to change our shower mixer when we had a combi installed 3 yrs ago.
ask your merchant for a suitable mixer for a combi.Get some gorm.0 -
The problem with a combi boiler isn't pressure its the amount of hot water the boiler can deliver. Its that part of the boiler spec that determines what shower you can have. The Bathstore one you link to is a rainhead. IMO - forget it with a combi, the boiler will most likely NOT keep up irrespective of whether any other hot taps are operated. I can't be specific though because you haven't said what boiler is to be fitted.

Its a Baxi Duotec 33
So to clarify, even if a shower says it only needs 0.2 bar pressure, if its a 'Rain' you dont think it would be any good off a combi? For example:

Good morning: you need a thermostatic shower mixer for high pressure systems eg. Mira Element .Your Baxi should have a DHW flow rate of 13.5 liters per minute depending on the temperature of the incoming mains, mains flow and pressure rates, capacity of the gas supply to the boiler and the DHW and cold pipework to the shower. More on shower systems etal here.
Perhaps you could update your other thread?

Thanks Canucklehead as always, was going to update the other thread once the boiler was installed.
The Mayfair shower I linked to is a thermostatic mixer isnt it? The pressure/flow rate we currently get off the old shower mixer on the bath is very good for both hot and cold water.
Does that mean its likely that the above shower would have good enough pressure/flow rate?
We ideally want a shower with both a fixed head and a hand shower like this one

You'll need at least 8 litres per minute of water flow at the first tap off the mains for most combi boilers to work efficiently.
Never trust anyone who comes around, looks at your house, turns the tap on and says a combi will work and give you enough heat and hot water. There is a lot more to correctly specifying a boiler than an 'all right mate, yeah an Okie Dokie 2000 will do you mate. I'l supply/fit and replace yer rads for £1500 cash."Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
