Help needed with Compression!!!

Right this is quite complicated, well for me anyway. I have some films on my windows media player that I would like to burn into vcds. I am going to do this with Nero Ultra Edition. The only problem is that the files are too large to put onto a 700mb cd.

I have tried to compress the films down with Windows Media Encoder but for some reason, this software doesn't seem to work. The files are only around 700-800mb and I want them on vcd so I can watch them on my dvd player.

Could somebody give me some advice on how to compress these files so that they will go onto a single cd-r.

Have you a DVD burner or Just CD I was going to suggest buying some blank DVDs

Try Tmpgenc 2.5, should do it, if you use the Wizard, its quite straight forward, or you can do it manually, this gives you more control, and you can alter the settings etc.

PS In Nero, if you go to File, Options, Expert Features, You can change the settings to overburn, up to 82mins per disc, it might be worth a try.
