saving4life: Check out the new M&S offer at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=257145

They're offering LOB at 3.9%, no fee. The lowest I knew of before this offer was 4.9% LOB from Barclaycard.

    Hope that helps!
  • Hi Moggles!

Remember my tale of a balance transfer! Well, just three days after applying for Barclaycard Platinum (stable relationship for life of balance at 6.9%) I was wondering if I should chase them up, but lo and behold! what do I find on mat today but a spanking new card! (£3500 limit).

(A much quicker turnaround than the Capital One Card!) Phoned and transferred balance of Capital One Card to Barclaycard straight away. This will take up to seven days to clear on Capital One Account. As soon as that has happened, I will phone Capital One and transfer the Barclaycard Balance as I'm still within the 3 months! Result! (As long as Capital One let me! though I can't see why not can you?)

So, now I have new Balance of £2061 from Capital One transferred straight back for 18 months of No interest and no Balance transfer fee or £100 spend required!

Thanks so much for your advice, didn't think I could do it! I intend NOT to spend on the C1 card. Just the Barclaycard! Debt free Here I come!!:T

    Hello

New to this but just thought I would let you all know that M & S have changed their offer from today to 0% on purchases for 12 months and 3.9% on balance transfers for the life of the balance with no transfer fees.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Hi Sukinas

Welcome to the credit card board!

Thanks for posting. That's still a pretty good offer, IMO.

    Hi,
I don't know if this is in the right place, so feel free to move if its not, but Capital One have now launched another offer on their website, without the £100 spend in the first 3 months.
Its actually 0% til JAN 08 with the standard no cap fee at 2%, also 3 mjonths 0% on purchases.
    Its on their website

I did a silly thing by applying for a virgin cc to transfer my balance from a&l card next month not realising they are both MBNA, hence I have been refused 'after checking your MBNA files'.

Ofcourse this is now on my credit history just when I really need to transfer (or borrow cheaply) £4500.

Which ccs are not part of MBNA where you can get a highish credit limit immediately. I already have a Barclay with 4k, Goldfish with 10k and Egg money with 1k with nothing owing on them except I usually use Goldfish for every day spending now but would change that to a&l when I pay it off.

Any advise please. Doesnt have to be 0% BT with fee if I can get a low % for life transfer.

Update: Barlaycard have offered me a BT @ 0% until march 07 but 2.5% fee or 6.9% LOB. Tried to ring A&L for an extension but their system is down at the mo.

Another update: A&L have told me to ring their 'loyalty number' in the morning to see about an extension or offers on interest rates so maybe I wont have to move it.

The Union card issued by Bank of Scotland is the current market leader. This offers 0% balance transfers for 9 months with no handling charges.

In April, I applied for the charity version (not so attractive now, as BoS has reduced the promotion period)

Alternatively, I can vouch for the Post Office card issued by Bank of Ireland. This card offers 0% balance transfers for 6 months with no fees.

Generous credit limits in both cases. The PO card allows customers to borrow right up to their credit limit. BoS insists on a margin of around 8% for possible late payment, over limit fees.
