Hi could do with some help my step son (17) recently had to purchase a gear box. Lesson to learn but went for the cheapest! Paid his money by card, and was told delivery date, he was keen to know it would be delivered on time and was on the phone to them all week. It never came. When he asked me to look into it a google search came up with a complaints site. CHADDERTON SALVAGE have a history of not delivering or delivering poor quality goods. Step son made numerous phone calls was frustrated and I have to say rude, however so were the staff. I emailed to cancel the delivery and asked for a full refund, and there was money credited to his account, however it was taken out the same day, they are now saying its to be taken up with the bank. They now don't answer the phone and I would appreciate ideas on how to take this forward.
Thanks
Thanks

If he paid by credit card, tell him to ring the credit card company and ask for a chargeback on the transaction explaining the situation. The credit card company will stop the payment to the supplier and your son will not have to pay any interest or charges whilst the matter is investigated. This is one of the reasons why it is so good to pay for such a service with a credit card and if the goods were not delivered your son will not be charged. Good luck . . .0

Call the bank first thing in the morning, talk to them, explain situation and see what they can do. They should be able to help because, in effect, the seller has commited fraud.0

If he paid using a Visa debit card, he can still do a chargeback. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
