My OH and i are lucky enough to have filled our ISA up this year.
I have received my lump sum, bought a car, given the kids some cash
but i still have approx. 9k and i really dont know what to do with it.
We also manage to save apporx. £600 a month.
Any help appreciated.

There are young men coming back from Afghanistan with their arms and legs blown off, only earning about £17,000 a year and unable to save any money at all so a donation to Help the Heros might help you and your children feel less conscience stricken about your financial good fortune.0

Sad, but no-one forced them to sign up.
Also why are they unable to save any money at all when that 17k wage packet is usually in addition to numerous benefits and expenses such as housing subsidised or paid for?
Most of us have our own kids futures to think about.0 -
dont worry about the returns so much, just put the money anywhere, with that bulk, you have time to think about it and the benefit of knowing its not going anywhere.
i put 15k in premium bonds for a year before i decided what to do with it, got around 300 quid winnings in that time too.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
Not enough information to answer the question. What are your long term financial goals? Could you use this money to help you achieve them?In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
