in Credit cards
Hi, hope someone can shed some light for me,
3 weeks ago i got my first credit card with lloyds its a visa one, i have a current account there and a visa debit card also, i check internet banking everyday and this morning i was suprised to see another credit card account had been added to it, i called lloyds to enquire and they said, yes this is a master card and is on its way to you now.
well, im not complaining but im wondering why on earth they are sending me a mastercard one aswell as i havent applied for it, is it normal to send a visa and a mastercard within 3 weeks?
thanks in advance

You sure the first one wasn't just a cheque guarantee card ?
Otherwise, I would call them again and ask why there's another, particularly as you haven't applied - there may be a security issue.Doing my best as a contrarian investor...property, banking...let's see how it goes

i got my lloyds visa about 4 months ago and they didn't send any mastercard.. might be best if you check with them again and see why a mastercard is being sent out.It is better to regret something you have done than something you haven't.....0

This is an old trick used by ex-tsb staff.
They always used to sell you a visa and mastercard - one to be used as your main card the other as a backup -yeah right!0 -
well im not gonna complain, i dont mind having the other one although it will not be kept in my purse it will be tucked away somewhere safe incase of emergencies!Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.

If you have an Accucard or More Than it may be these. I have both. More Than balance was transfered to Lloyds TSB Platignum on 6 Jun but not had card yet. Accucard is still showing on the old site but won't permit transactions. I am awaiting Cashback from both. Despite Lloyds being a new card I have not had before they won't allow 0% for 9 months with 2% fees. I asked them this morning. Once the Cashback shows, I will close the account, along with many others I suspect. There are still accounts offering good Cashback out there.0

Natwest used to do a single credit card account for which you received both a mastercard and visa card.... the idea was that if a company didnt accept one then you always had the other (in terms of card type rather than available funds etc as they were linked to the same account) but shortly after I got them they cut it down to a single card as almost everywhere accepted both or no credit cards at all.All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
