Do bear in mind this doesn't include 1/2 price offers, only multi-buy offers. Most of my shop this week was 1/2 price but I only "saved" 99p.

All 1/2 price (from what I purchased): Special K and own brand Shredded Wheat, Quorn Mince, Grapes, Apples and Oranges. Most OB healthy eating products such as Ready Meals, Garlic Bread. Lots more too.

Buttoni Pasta is 50p for spaghetti and if you buy Sharwoods Straight to Wok Noodles, you get the sauce free (That was my 99p!)

Does their own brand shredded wheat contain just wheat or does it have nasties like salt and sugar in?

    Thanks

Salt and sugar are not "nasties" !

The quantity you consume may be bad for you, but that doesn't mean the substance itself is "nasty".

I would choose items without salt and sugar in and base purchases on that given a choice myself, to me they are unnecessary in a lot of things!

Agree, as in shredded wheat taste perfectly fine without added sugar and salt.

There are some veg offers - bag of potatoes 30p; bag of carrots 30p
these are not A class veggies but they're not bad - oh and the potatoes have not been prewashed;)

(Years ago when I had a p/t job in a F&V shop fruit and veg were classed A, B, C with A being the better shapes IYSWIM - ie straight carrots - I could never fathom any other reason for the class!)

I was quite pleased to see the potatoes being unwashed!! I grow my own so haven't needed to buy these but good to see all the time as they should keep better, well once they are taken out of the clear plastic bag and stored in something more suitable that is..

You also realise when you grow your own how many odd shapes you get as normal, I think it's a shame the big supermarkets don't sell more 'realistic' veg..

The 30p bag of potatoes are a good buy, we had some for tea tonight :)
They have 30p bags of onions, and they are good too.
  • Pampers baby wipes, buy 1 get 2 free. £2.45 for 3. meat any 3 for £10. Lurpac £2 (normally £2.40). Slimfast jar £2 off. Whitening toothpaste 99p (half price). Fudge 12p off. long life milk 39p (10p off)
    To name but a few.

The 31p pickles are back on. Not as good but still well worth 31p.
