Premium bank accounts - Are they worth it?

Hi
Do many people upgrade their current accounts and take on a premium account with their bank?
Im with Abbey at the minute and i note they dont offer a premium account.
I was wondering whether people thought they were worth it and secondly, if they did, which banks you think offer the best accounts?
Also, what is the approximate cost?
Thanks

It depends on how many of the facilities you will use and whether you can get a better deal buying those facilities individually0

The cost is usually £20 a year (or more) for a premium account. For the exact cost, refer to the bank's website. Some premium accounts offer a discount cost, if you meet the criteria.
The following banks offer 'premium' accounts:- LTSB
- Barclays
- HSBC
- Natwest

I have Royalties Gold with RBS. I find it worthwhile since I use the travel insurance at least once a year. My mobile phone is covered as is my partner's. I've used the home emergency insurance when my radiator pipe exploded, saving me £400. I've also used the green flag cover twice. I signed up for this October 2008, and pay £12.95 a month, so I'd say its paid for itself in that time at least.0

Abey do offer a 'premium' account called the Reward. Only trouble with that is that you have to bank with Abbey to get it. If you're not too bothered about getting reasonable access to your money AND you use the add-ons offered, go for it.Santander - usted puede silbar para su dinero0 -
I believe that if you look at the "advantages" you really need, you can buy the cover/benefit cheaper than a years cost of a premium account. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
