What to buy for new puppy?

So she is a working dog from a pet background?
Has she had her tail docked?
A dog is for life not just for Christmas.
How about a rescue dog?0 -
Most strays around here aren't even wormed never mind vaccinated, so I think it's my choice not to allow my pup outside until it's safe to do so. This is also why I don't want advice from someone outside the area regarding this as they won't understand the neighbourhood.
Is your back garden enclosedand dog safe? If so there should not be a problem as Parvo is transmitted by unvaccinated dogs coming into contact with infected dogs or their stools...0 -
Oh I just lost my post lol.
Her mother is a family pet only as is her father. This is quite common I think? Our Golden Retriever was a family pet when we had him, I don't actually know anyone who works their dog
Foreign I can't guarantee that someone eg courier, OH, hasn't left the gate open at some point lately and the dog warden was quite straight on this point, he said he wouldn't risk it and I can only imagine he sees many bad things.

Anyway I wasn't after training advice, I will get that from an actual human dog trainer and not a computer when the time comes

Erm, 'when the time comes' is from the moment you get your puppy.
Personal thoughts... get a larger water bowl than food bowl, as it gets filled more often. And preferably not plastic bowls, they're a bit edible for a chewy puppy.
Decent brush so you can get puppy used to being groomed regularly.
A Kong or similar style toy they have to work at.
A soft collar so they can get used to it early.
I agree with no puppy pads - mine just ate them!0 -
We had no problems with the pads; but they weren't used/needed for that long.
Do like the idea of a kong - it keeps ours quite. We just have the problem of them wanting to play tug of war with it. (they don't fight over it though)Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
