I have just phoned the 0870 number and it was automatically redirected to 01506 421 000. They didn't even ask me for my referrers details either. I signed up got the Sky+ box for free and the first 3 months with all the channels for £10. All done in a matter of minutes

Initially she said they will decommission todays installation and do a new installation again to avail this offer. But i pointed out there is no logic in this again she spoken to manager and agreed a £89 refund to my SKY+ account
This is what i need
as still i'm eligible for £10 discount for signing up online + £50 quidco cashback

that cant be right can it? surely they know about this loophole and can do something? just doesnt sound right to me, your saying you can get sky+ and then simply swap it with a new sky hd box and you get all the features of a subscription to sky HD without the cost? I figured they had to install new bits of kit to get sky HD?
come to think of it, I understand sky+ is free with sky hd subscription. so by floggin off a free sky+ box you can use the money to put towards a sky hd box?
thanks

you still have to pay sky+ subs charges for the + features on top of subs charges for HD normally if you get it from sky.
but if you have SK+ installed, you can swap it for HD box provided if you know the standard procedures of SKY+ installation and setup
no extra bit of hardware will be installed other than changing cables / single lnb to quad or octo lnb etc, but these are anyway installed or in place with sky+salthegal wrote:that cant be right can it? surely they know about this loophole and can do something? just doesnt sound right to me, your saying you can get sky+ and then simply swap it with a new sky hd box and you get all the features of a subscription to sky HD without the cost? I already have a Sky+ box and, out of curiosity, tried to access one of the HD channels, but it said I needed to upgrade my subscription. I'm already subscribed to everything but the movies and it was a channel that, on the "normal" version, I regularly use (it was either Sky One or BBC). Did it just detect that I didn't have a HD box, or is it something that has to be enabled at the Sky end?0 -

But suniil is claiming that if you already have Sky+ installed, you can buy the Sky+ HD box from an independent retailer, sell your existing Sky+ box, install the Sky+ HD box with your original Sky+ cables - and enjoy HD TV without paying the £10 extra HD sub. Must say it sounds too good to be true?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
hrm i would like to see evidence of this working?0
