Hi
can I bring this challange back to life?
Got cupboards and a freezer x 2 full of food.
Need to keep away from the supermarket!! But see bargins and am tempted!!
Will have to go to Lidl this friday as have to take MIL, but I will take a list and buy milk and bread, plus yougarts and fruit and veg only. Will only take £15 with me.0 -
I'd like to join in too as I need to spend as little money as possible between now and the 15th. I'll do an inventory tonight and then work out how to use up the different ingredients.0

Just had a look in cupboard and found a tin of chicken in white sauce.tin mushroom condensed soup and some tagliatelli- mix it all together? and bung in oven?
Children will not eat that, but found some fish fingers, so can pop them in oven as well0 -
I think I will be in for this too. I have been following the grocery challenge but as we are going away on holiday for 4 weeks on the 25th June I want to spend as little money on food in June as possible (more for holiday spends)while using up my stores. I have quite a bit of meat in the freezer as well as a pasta, flour and rice mountain too!!
My only problem is not spending money on bargains! I tried to empty my freezer last month, but it is just as full now!!
Off to make an inventory of the freezer and cupboards....

I would love this challenge to be brought back to life as whilst we're financially OK the amount of money we spend a month on food can only be classed as obscene. I’ve joined the grocery challenge as well but I’m keen to start using up what we’ve bought previously without thinking and tends to stay in the back of the cupboard / freezer / fridge until the end of time or until it sprouts it’s own limbs and marches out of it’s own accord
Will go through the cupboards and make a list so I shall expect to be highly embarrassed when I post it laterYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
tinkerbell......im thinking of doing this again....and dee's thread on shopping from home is also amazing.......although i think it may be a good idea to start a brand new thread if others are interested to as both this thread and dee's are massive!!!0

Please help me! I normally just lurk on this board but i am having a small crisis due to an unexpected huge gas bill and I've been a bit rubbish at sticking to my budget this month. Sooo I have £60 to last til payday (2 weeks) and below is a list of everything i have left in my cupboard. Can you help me work out what I can make from the ingredients below? Or suggest some cheap additions that will stretch what I have? I am feeling wholly uninspired. Be warned...I have some odd things in my cupboards and virtually nothing fresh in. Any help will be greatly apprecieated,

You've got flying saucers... what else do you need?!!TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
good point!0
