It's doubtful whether your mom's credit card can help. The Halifax insurance will cover you, but when it says 2 adults it means family (it also covers all your children), and usually they define partners as someone living with you.

Your partner may be able to claim off his own insurance (under "unable to travel due to travelling companion's illness/serious injury").
  • I have claimed on my partners insurance you get with the ultimate reward account.

I didnt expect them to pay out, but received a cheque on Thursday.

We had to pay £50 each excess, but it was a really easy to claim, any questions they had they phoned us, so it wasnt delayed with letters back and to.

I hope you can get your money back (seems like a genuine claim) and I hope your eye gets better soon.

    Good Luck xx
