Just moved into new house - who to go with?

My son has just moved into his first house. Scottish gas are the suppliers apparently for both gas and electricity so he'll need to go with them initially.

Their cheapest tariff is Websaver 4 but has a cancellation fee if you move. However it's difficult to know who to move to with no idea of consumption. It's a 2 bedroom terraced house and the attic has been converted to a third bedroom - any idea of likely consumption?

Is he best to choose Scottish Gas's next cheapest traiff with no tie-in or go with Websaver 4 for a year till he sees his consupmtion figures and then move if necessary?

Or is there a company that might be best to move to now?

Im in similar situation. Try uswitch and go compare sites. some let you get an idea of future bill/savings by giving type of property and whether you are low/med high user etc.
Also use a cashback site as you can save up to £100 in cashback. Its really worth it.

Nobody ever thinks they are a high user until they get a massive bill!! Take meter readings on day one, then take them again a month later, and perhaps a month after that. Then you will have some idea of consumption.
