So just to clarify, you are the only 'general assistant'?

This may be important if there are other 'general assistants' which is your official role as per your HR records. If there are other people performing the same role, there should in theory be a selection pool. It does seem however, that you are 'one from one' and would not require a scored matrix.

not a member of the union but been to see them this morning, i cant join so they cant help me. theres nothing i can do about the redundancy but i'm going to appeal against it anyway. i have been treated unfairly for months now and i'm being punished for speaking up against management.

Did you ask the company how they were outsourcing this role? It could be that your position should be TUPE'd.

no i didnt ask how they were outsourcing my role, i was asked into the office without any prior notice at all and they told me my role was at risk of redundancy and straight after the meeting escorted out of the building and told to go back into work on friday 27th nov for another meeting. they obviously dont want me anywhere near the place.
