Thanks black-saturn. I've only been a regular visitor here for a couple of months, so missed this first time round. I don't think there's a recipe on here that I won't try!

I think £80 per month for 2 ppl is very good. Hubby usually does our shopping and spends between £20-£28 per week depending on what toiletries and cleaning stuff we need that week. I'm not allowed to go very often though because when I do we spend anywhere from £40-£60 that week :o What can I say? I have a weakness for brown cake :D

I agree, £80 a month is really good, but what you could do, is keep all your receipts for a month, and see exactly what you are spending the money on, and if there are anythings you could cut out, or buy a cheaper version of!!!!

LOL! I think that's what happened too! Although I'm still pleased I posted- I never thought it could be so interesting finding out what other people spend on their shopping! I'm gonna have a look at black-saturn's menu planner too, some new ideas would be great, tend to get stuck in a "food rut" living on a budget sometimes.
Speaking of which, does anyone know any butter bean recipes- I've got a load in my cupboard cos they were on special offer (Enormous bag for £1) and now I don't know what to do with them!
