Cineworld Unlimited Cancellation

Options
I'm curious about something, I paid Cineworld a once off fee for a year subscription. If I don't want to continue after the year do I have to physically cancel or because I paid for a year straight up this will end my obligation to them?

    Why are people allowed to sign up to such contracts without understanding what they are signing?

    OP, you need to read your contract. In future, please read contracts before signing.

    What does it say in the contract?
    Squirrel!
    If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

    Don't worry yourself, I'll google it for you

    ANNUAL PLAN

    6.5 The Annual Plan runs from year to year for as long as you make your annual subscription payments and the following procedure will apply:
    (a) the annual subscription payment is payable by debit card or credit card;
    (b) at least six weeks before the expiry of the twelve-month period the Subscription Department will offer you the opportunity to pay the subscription for the next year by debit or credit card, or to move to the Monthly Plan; and
    (c) if termination takes place during a subscription year on Legitimate Grounds, the Subscription Department will refund the excess amount for any full months remaining.
    6.6 For both the Monthly Plan and the Annual Plan, if the subscription is continued after the Initial Period, the subscription fee will, if applicable, be the one current when the Initial Period expires. Any increase in the subscription fee will be notified to you at least one month before the new rate comes into effect. If the fees are paid for by Direct Debit, the Direct Debit amounts will be adjusted accordingly. There may be additional taxes and costs that are not paid through or imposed by us.

    If you paid for a whole year as a one off then your obligation ends when your subscription ends. I've paid for a year twice now. At no point have they attempted to take more money.

    This year I've opted for monthly payments. It has recently gone up but it is still a great offer if you love cinema.

    Exactly the same happened to me. They do send a letter reminding you your subscription's ending, and giving you the chance to pay for another year/set up a direct debit, but it is completely fine to ignore the letter.

    I saved so much money when I had mine - saw 98 films in a year! :eek:

    I think only Cineworld do them. I used to have one but my Cineworld is useless and lets kids run amok. I travel to Vue now. It is £13.50 a month unless you want to use West End.
