transferring stuff from old pc to new one

Hi - our old pc doesn't have a working floppy drive, let alone a cd-rw or anything like that. I have a USB pen that won't install on windows 98.

Is there a way that I can get all our documents/photos, and our outlook info, off our old pc and onto the new one using broadband?

any help gratefully received!

thanks very much

Judith

Stick all of what you want in a folder, so all pictures, Word Exel and any other files music etc stick in a folder and then upload that folder to.

Just dont trash the old PC until you have your files for sure. :)

You can usually get a win98 driver for the usb pens, have a look on the manufacturers website.

    Hi albertross.

Isnt there a thing that only Win98SE supports USB and not Win98.

No USB has been supported since 95 osr2 (albeit a bit flakily)

I have used several brands of USB pendrive on plain old 98, even though a lot of things say SE on the box, (there was a driver style change to WDM driver model when SE came out), but up until now, everything I've ever plugged in seems to work (provided there is a 98 driver available)
