hey guys thanks for all your help, thought i would give a little update....
i mailed dixons on sunday as in my previous post, all i have had back so far is an automated response saying they will deal with soon.
repair guy has been round this morning , i asked him if he thought the machine was dropped during transit as the lid was broken when i received it. he said its not unkown for the factory to put faulty machines in a new box (the box was undamaged when deliveed) and send out to ''meet their quota'':mad: and the engineers would repair after delivery:eek: anyway, he wouldnt condemn it as he said all part could be replaced. he said sometimes they even spend 2 hours replacing the whole internal drum and gubbings etc!!
basically a weight has gone, he said he only ever changes 1-2 a year so doesnt carry the part.. I now have to wait a week (although not definate as sometimes the weights come in damaged) for it to be fixed. i am right , royal, P'd to say the least.
i am going to try and give dixons another call.......
with the extended warranty, it covers labour for an extra four years, they claim to hav a parts guarantee for 5 years but i have to pay labour and call out if i dont get the warranty
i wonder what i did in a previous life?
not only did my machine go over the weekend, so did my internet, had a big leak in boiler and a major leak in my roof!! i now hav a tarpaulin roof and have to get the whole lot replaced... those dixons guys better not mess with me, i am so not in the mood! (and it's not even that time of the month haha!)Can you see the mountains through the fog?0 -
hi everyone, another update, managed to speak to someone at Dixons, a very nice chap who refferd it to ''case management'' to have a look at, they phoned pretty much straight away to say they were looking into the situation and that they were going to contact hoover. just had a phone call from the lady in case managment who said they are going to replace the machine :j:T:D she is apparantly emailing head office who will contact me within 48 hours to arrange pickup and delivery and i can speak with them when they call to get a different make and model.
thanks to everyone for your advice
all of the people i spoke with today at dixons were so helpful (even before i got the result i wanted) i cannot believe the huge difference compared to the people over the weekend.
now let's wait and see how long i have to wait for a new one...Can you see the mountains through the fog?0 -
Excellent result...... keep us posted.
Before your last update, I would've said again to play merry hell but this time stating that your are now expecting to be without your washing machine for an unreasonable period of time - this may well have been your best bargaining tool as SOGA makes explicit reference to inconvenience / loss of use.0 -
