let us know how you get on i have my fingers crossed for you.
on a note for any one whos bond is due to mature soon, because of this post i have been online to barclays site and did the live chat with an advisor, to see when the letter should be sent to opt out of a new bond at maturity (as mums hasnt arrived) and they have stated to me it should be sent out more than a month before maturity, so they have given us a contact number to call and see when it will be sent out (and hopefully we can tell them then we do not want to reinvest)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

we will do, we called them on monday night and said the letter should be received this week, will ring them on monday if not, but they have advised thaht they can take the instruction not to reinvest over the phone if the form has not been received (apparently they only need to be told the day before bet if it was left that late they would say something else lol)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

And don't even think about opening an Executive Account at Barclay's - even the manager of the executive department advised me to put in an official complaint!Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
why is nothing simple with barclays???????
mum got her maturity letter (finally) however her interest was not as expected, called them up to question it and she has been charged tax on the interest (she is a non tax payer due to wage she earns as only part time) this is despite her filling in the inland revenue r85 form in branch when opening the account. (i know this was definatly done as i was with her when she opened the account.)
they have advised her to send a form into them in the post asap but may not be actioned in time so they have told her she will have to take it up with the inland revenue direct.
however when she was on the phone tonight about this she also advised that she does not want to reinvest in another bond,
she asked about the cheque as the form states they will post the cheque if she does not want too re-invest, and as it matures close to xmas she asked if can be collected from branch so its not stuck in the xmas post, and they have stated that this account cannot have cheques issued in branch and they are always posted (unless you want payment into another barclay account)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

luckily barclays have confirmed they have not reinvested the money and have issued a cheque for the account, still waiting for the cheque though ... will be interesting to see if they deducted the tax or if they sorted it out in time!MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
