bath over spilt, wetting my electrics in kitchen downstairs

hi , my bath has just overflowed and some of the water came down into the kitchen , we have downlights that werent in there holes so the water came thruogh there, only for a couple of mins but did wet the wires, have turned off the downstairs circuit and will leave it to dry for a day, is there anything else i should do? or any other advice an electrician can offer

Often this won't cause a problem, but just to be sure:
Isolate the relevent circuit that feeds the kitchen lights - lighting downstairs maybe.
Allow plenty of ventilation in the ceiling void, bathroom and kitchen. Leave the lights out of their holes.
Dry off any remaining water/damp in the ceiling void with a towel.
After a day or two get an electrician to carry out an insulation test on the affected lighting circuit, plus any other circuits that the water could have damaged.
I can't be any more specific than that I'm afraid without actually looking at the problem.

cheers and thx for the tips, seems ok now, turned the downstairs circuit off and left it for 2 days, seems to have done the trick0
