Call barring help?

hi,

i got a virgin media phone line with talk unlimited.

i dont want their call barring service as its rubbish. so i got rid of it.

apart from their call barring service is there any other way to barr numbers? my home phone doesnt have built in barring.

i dont want to buy a new home phone with call barring feature unless anyone know any good deals?

    A Commtel Phone Guard would work with any phone.

    However, those excellent devices are now fetching silly prices (I paid £2.99 [delivered] for mine about 2 years ago).
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    yeah phone guard cost over £20.

    Is there any good deals on home phones that have built in barring?
