Tarting Timing

Hey All
My current 0% rate runs out on 11th August. I have decided on the next card I would like to apply for - does anyone have any advice on when I should make my application?
I see that Martin's Tart Alert warns you 6 weeks before your rate runs out - this seems like a long time to me. I've always had my applications accepted quickly, but I suppose there's always a first time for it to go wrong.
I'm trying to balance making the most of my current and new 0% rate periods, with the possibility of ballsing it up and ending up paying interest for a while.
Any thoughts? Thanx

We recommend 6 weeks also on the stoozing website. That allows for a few days of research (choosing a card), the application process, the credit check, a few queries they may have, an application backlog, issuing of the card, setting up of the BT, actioning of the BT etc. 6 weeks allows a bit of slack.
