in Credit cards
I have a Lloyds Duo Credit card which has both Amex and MasterCard cards, which one should I register on Paypal to pay for items bought on Ebay ?, I was going to add Amex but I have heard there is something about the fees because Amex bill in USD which is then converted to GBP or something ?, so would MasterCard be best ?.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I haven't been using Paypal for a while, so I'm not sure if it still applies.
In the past, when I do a transaction in GBP using Amex on Paypal, they will state that the transaction will be converted to USD. But they also say they know that this is a mistake and they will automatically credit your account with the exchange fee that your bank charges.
Out of the 4 occasions that I can remember, 3 resulted in me being better off (i.e. the amount credited back means in total the amount I paid is cheaper for me), but 1 resulted in me being worse off.0 -
I would go with Amex. You will see a credit on your statement to sort out the conversion issue. I have always come out better off.
Amex tends to have better cashback/rewards as well.0 -
I use my Amex; Paypal used to bill me in USD and then add a separate conversion rebate - no idea whether it made me better or worse off!
However, since the summer, I've just been charged directly in GBP by PayPal, so hopefully they've sorted the issue out with Amex.
Cheers
