Credit Card Payments and illness

A friend of mine owes a large sum of money on credit cards, she hasn't been able to work for a few months and this will continue due to illness.

The minimum payment is barely being made and the cards are causing her a lot of stress. I know there is a way to have the balance frozen and a token payment made but I am not sure how to do this.

Any help and advice is much appreciated!

Depending on just how bad things are and how much you want to or can help, you should consider a debt counsellor. Examples being:

    England/Wales: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk
    Scotland: https://www.cas.org.uk

And if it's you (and not a friend) just be honest when you post in the other part of the forum.
