My son recently lost his key and he had his photo on his keyring so I changed them myself. Got the lock same as the old one and then all you do is open the door and on the edge where it fits into the frame there is a screw in the metal lock plate. You take the screw out and then just push the lock barrel out from either the front or the back. Put the new barrel in and put the screw back in. It was easy. What may be difficult is getting a lock barrel that fits. Can you take the other one out and then see if there are any numbers on it or what make it is etc?

A week later my son found his key!

You need the key to remove the barrel after unfastening the screw. Assuming you've got a 2nd key that fits !

Measure from screw hole to either end of the barrel as they come in varying lengths. Doesn't matter so much on the inside, but on the outside you don't want the barrel to protrude from the handle else it's less secure.
If your going to B&Q see here ..and with your dimensions we should be able to identify which one to get.

Doesn't look like B&Q one's are suitable then. When the lock cylinder is in place how far is it protruding from the faceplates of the handle on each side? If it's already pretty much flush with the faces of the handles then 40/50 is the size you need and not available at B&Q (or at least not listed on their website!).
Do you have wickes, focus or homebase near you?

homebase ..brass or chrome. Also do a 34/45 that may be suitable if the current cylinder isn't flush to the surfaces.

Looked at wickes but only appear to go upto 40mm/40mm
