Adventure holiday for 18 and 19 year olds?

Can anyone suggest an appropriate location for an 18 year old female and her 19 year old boyfriend to go on their foreign holidays and they both want a beach near by, a bar and adventure? Their budget is £500. They would prefer direct flights from Belfast for the last week in August 2010 and they want self catering only. They wouldn't mind going to theme parks as long as it is for their age group.

Can anyone suggest a relevant location for them as I personally do not go on foreign holidays and therefore I can not help them?

Hi Jo...........when you say adventure, what are they looking for exactly?

Just going abroad without parents is a pretty good adventure in itself at that age!

Is £500 the total budget or per person?

Have they got any ideas themselves about where they'd like to go?

Are they looking for an 'a to b' package, or do they want to travel round a bit?

They want to have fun, be it a day at a water park or seeing what is a round them. £500 is the budget for their hotel on a self catering basis and their return flights. They don't know where they would like to go except some where warm, near a beach and near some kind of night life! I would imagine they want an a to b package.

I am supposed to be going to see the girl, if not both of them, tomorrow, as in Sunday, so I was hoping I would have some suggestions for them then.

I'll be waiting patiently, no pressure!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::p

Don't think this one really needs to be too complicated! The Balearics would be fine!

My DD and her BF, both 20, went to Palma Nova Majorca last summer, perfect location for the age group! They cut the costs of a peak-time holiday by tracking prices with the budget airlines and booking in March for July holiday at a good price. They booked an apartment at a good price with www.ownersdirect.co.uk and a Resorthoppa transfer. Managed to keep the booking cost to under £500. Staying in the apartment meant they avoided the horrors of the budget teenage hotels, whilst still enjoying a lively resort.

Olympic have well- priced holidays to Greece, although the budget is a bit tight for advance booking at that time of year.

    Hi again

Was about to add to my post when the estate had power cut last night and was left sitting in the dark.

    Resort info here

    http://www.thomascook.com/destinations/spain/balearic-islands/majorca/palma-nova/#enhanced

Lovely beaches and watersports (££!) , short flight and easy transfer to resort, nearby water park, lively-as-you-like nightlife in nearby Magaluf, capital Palma can be reached easily by local bus for wandering round and window-shopping.

Be aware, a lot of the very cheap deals to nearby Magaluf will be in budget hotels catering almost exclusively for groups of teenagers and will be poor quality and pretty rowdy. They might not care??, but if they're doing the couples type hol, maybe not what they're looking for this time!!!

DD and her BF got their holiday price down to under £450 peak season for 2 booking as described in earlier post and got a decent place to stay as well, but it's case of taking a bit of time to check out this tips on this website and maybe wwwtripadvisor.co.uk for booking tips, which they may not be bothered to do!

Others will be able to advise on similar destinations on Spanish costas. These destinations are the most likely to fit the budget.
