Help! Cheap traval advice needed (France)

Can anyone advise me on the cheapest way to get to (and from) Provence in August
(so thats Marseille as the most conveniant city to get too). I am not at all fussy, I can cope with coach/train/plane or cattle truck if its cheap! (the flights are looking a bit too pricey for me at the moment!
