a ltd company is a legal entity.
any new contract with any new company will have nothing to do with any old/another company.
whether you want to sign another contract with those directors is another matter!

the only fight you can have is with the administrators of the company. and as you are an unsecured creditor, you are way way down the list of priorities.

i dont understand your security of deposit question?
Not to bother, I kinda answered my own question. Its really only protection for the deposit if the job hasnt started so that rules that out. Wife is going to phone them today to see if we are going to get anyone out this week. Weathers not too good which isn't on our side and therefore the renderers can't come out when its like that.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
If your builder has gone bust, get all the materials and tools on site locked up. The builder's suppliers will be trying to recover them.
Check out your contract with your builder. When does ownership of the material transfer to you, when they land on site or when you have paid? If you haven't paid for the stuff, get onto the suppliers and talk about a very good price for you to buy them off the suppliers directly. A steel cut to size for your house, and on your site is not worth much to the steel company. If you release it then they have to collect it, strip it of paint, cut it to size for the next client, paint it and deliver it again. It is better value to them if they can sell it to you at a discount.
You will almost certainly lose money over this, but you should be acting to minimise your losses.0 -

the best you can do is to get another builder in, and make sure he is recommended by a friend etc...
also dont pay any money up front. only pay when the work is completed.

Yet again the Zig company (Glassbox)has zagged out of business leaving many of us with uncompleted work. Are there any more out there in the same state? So far it has taken 19 months to get to a nearly finished Glassbox and my advice would be to contact a builder with a good track record.I know of one if you are interested>
