BT Bill Still Too Expensive

Hi

I recently posted onto this forum about how my BT bill was too expensive, I changed my contract with the company, however the bill has only came down by about £4 per month, is there any other way that I can reduce my bill further? My BT contract is primarily used for Broadband use only. My bill is as follows:

Hi

I just received my BT bill and to be honest I feel that it is still too hight - is there anything else that I can do to reduce it? The bill breakdown is as follows:

Cost of Calls £8.65
Your benefits -£1.09
Rental charges £24.91
VAT £4.87

Total now due
£37.34

Not much you can do on BT line rental, but you can do something about your call costs.

If you are using BT for mobile and UK calls during the day, why do you not use an overide supplier ?

There is plenty of information on this site about call charges

    http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/ukcallchecker/

I use call1899, standard Uk geographical numbers just 5p connection charge for however long you are on for.

Assuming your calls were geographical numbers only that would be a total of 173 calls through call1899 and similar on other overide providers.

And for those 0870 type numbers, look on the saynoto0870 website and see if there is a geographical number available.

I have a mobile phone which has free landline & mobile calls.

We use this mobile to telephone everyone where we can.

When we have to ring 0870, 0845 etc we use the www.saynoto0870.com website as mentioned above to look for a freephone or 01/02/03 telephone number to ring from the mobile.

To ring someone, its going to cost something. Just how much it costs is down to you.

    Hi Jizba

Hmmm looks like you have a pretty good start on savings anyway, you're definitely doing all the right things.

If you want I can have a look over your account and see if you could make a saving anywhere else?

If so drop me an email with FAO Craig to btcare@bt.com and I will start digging!

    Cheers
