I've started the great razor riot....
I blame the mad pigeon lady myself.
I do have a development though, I don't know whether there is a difference in manufacturing but the womans wilkinson sword razors (pink) last longer than the mens (green)
maybe i'd better stop shaving my legs?0 -
OK, I've found the patent now. Number 4,615,436 and you can find it here:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=23&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=Hastie.INNM.&OS=IN/Hastie&RS=IN/Hastie
Reading the patent and the marketing blurb at the link posted by mgw99 I wonder if it is the same device! The blurb says, "Contrary to popular belief a razor blade is not rapidly dulled by shaving." The patent says the blade is dulled by shaving: "As noted by the prior art, the engagement of a razor's cutting edge to the epidermal surface results in a measured dulling of the blade." The patent also makes no mention of the device straightening the bends as claimed in the blurb.
The only useful thing about this device is that it advises the user to clean the blade thoroughly after shaving.
PS. I'm going on holiday this evening so please carry on without me. I'm not just ignoring you!If your outgoings exceed your income, your upkeep will be your downfall.

my grandad swears by a touch of conditioner on his bristles and the cold water only to make razor blades last longer. he also leaves it to "air dry" before putting the cover back on. he reckons a blade lasts him up to a month doing this. can't see the magnet working myself though.
