Surely they must be using a different company this time ?
I have only just received my order from last time and they said they were really regretting the offer and no way could they cover the deliveries cost and they could not cope,0 -
The web site just let me order 20 rolls for my loft I await delivery. Thanks for this post0

I missed out last time, but i got it for the same price from B&Q although that meant two journeys whereas this is delivered.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I advise investing in a 500W workmans lamp and wearing goggles at all times (using washing up liquid as demister if necessary).
My lamp broke halfway through and I had to rely on a 100W uplighter. Goggles a bit too misty and loft a bit too dark when walking around, so I used the goggles when laying it but decided it was safer to lift them off while walking around (despite all dust floating around). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS - get a decent lamp and wear goggles at all times (reason below).
Personally, I reckon it's not worth DIY with all the grants florting around. Even with NPower and homebase offer I must have spent close to £50 buying all the stuff, versus £200 for supply and fitting. It took me two half days in total (though much of that was clearing the loft), ducking (hopefully old) wasps nests. Itched for a day or so afterwards each time despite wrapping up warm.
I'm a fan of DIY but by the end I'd decided I was learning and saving too little per hour of my time for it to be worthwhile.
And that was before the eye hospital a week later confirmed a fibrous foreign body stuck in the centre of my eye ....0 -
Some other tips for loft insulation removal - have a COLD shower afterwards, as a warm one opens up the pores and gives more itchiness in the long run. And for any stubborn itchies, duct tape can sometimes pull the stuf out. If you're a bit hairy where it itches, you can weaken the tape on jeans etc first.0

I agree! Sometimes it is better to pay someone else to do the job. I will NEVER insulate a loft myself aver again...0 -
Well I did it on the last offer and laid 22 rolls and I must admit it HAS made a big difference keeping the house warm.
For £22 and about 4 hours work
well worth ordering and doing.0 -
