Transferred Balance - now new Spend

in Credit cards
Hi
This is my first post on this Forum and I have a question.
I have transferred a small balance from Halifax 1 to Capitol 1 - no problem, but now need to place (spend) £1270 on a credit card. Capitol 1 told me NOT to put it on their card as it would only give me 0% until Sept on new spend.
She said to put it on another credit card and then transfer to Capitol.
Does this not attract interest from the other cc before transferring.
Hope I have explained sufficiently - new to all of this.
Thanks for your help.

Not if you tranfer it before you first statement date, unless there is already a balance on the alternative card you are using.
You will also pay a balance transfer fee to capital 1 too doing it this way - although that will probably be a lot less than the interest you would pay if you put it through as a purchase direct to your Capital 1 card.
So, if you have paid off you Halifax card........
Buy the £1270 item on it.
when your statement arrives call capital one and do a balance transfer within 10 days of your payment due date to avoid incurring any interest.
Pay capital one a fee of 2.5%? about £32 for the transfer.
Then the item will be at 0% interest until the end of your Capital one balance transfer deal - which presumably is one of their long juicy ones?
